Overview official launch of the Global Hub for the Common Good
Posted on November 16, 2015 by Alicia Trepat Pont |
The official presentation of the Global Hub for the Common Good took place this past Tuesday November 10th 2015 in Madrid.
The event was attended by 130 participants that had the opportunity to listen to an introduction by the hand of Christian Felber – founder of the Economy for the Common Good movement -, who talked about the Global Hub as a spin-off from the Economy for the Common Good (ECG). His story took the attendants to the origins of the ECG and the Attac movement, explaining how one organization has its roots in another one.
Christian Felber’s Keynote was the start to a highly interesting event with the presentation of the Global Hub for the Common Good by its founder, Diego Isabel La Moneda, and a very interesting panel of experts discussing about current social issues, challenges and how to overcome them.
Finally, the attendants were invited to participate with questions and with a short 10-minute group-discussion about what would have to change in terms of society, politics, media and companies so that we could achieve a new economy focused on the Common Good by the year 2025.
The results obtained during the event will be included to the other participatory processes that the Global Hub for the Common Good is undertaking this year 2015 in order to issue a common report. This will be used as the basis for next year’s strategies and working groups.
We want to thank everyone that contributed in making this event possible, to the panelists for their valuable participation and to everyone who attended for the positive energy and engagement to the Common Good. More coming soon!
